He started his career in the Archaeological Survey of India. He is currently the Head of Department of Archaeology, University of Kerala. He has presented papers in several National and international seminars and conferences. He has published several articles in academic journals and books. Books published by him include Archaeology of Kerala: Emerging Trends (2011), Harappan Culture Problem and Issue (2012), Sculptural Art in Early Buddhist (Hinayana) Caves of Western Maharashtra (A Stylo-Chrono Study) (2013) and the Megalithic culture of south india jointly with K.N.Dikshit (2014).
