This book is a humble attempt to provide a birds eye view of Geo-environment of Gujarat. It also provides information about environmental geology and its significance, required for co-ordination between environmental geologists and planners, designers, executers and engineers; as that can help avoid a mismatch between geomorphology and land use, so as to achieve safe environment and sustainable development for the people. The book covers summarized case studies divided into three parts, covering various aspects of geo-environment. The first part reflects a broad but crisp account of geo-environment of Gujarat; whereas the second covers limited case studies regarding district appraisal, dealing with preparation of various thematic maps including hazard and land suitability?capability map, that helps build cities with safe environment and free from vagaries of nature or negative anthropogenic activity.
