Supratim Ghosh Dastidar is one of the few younger poets whose poems I read whenever he invites me to as he has a very high aim in terms of writing uncompromisingly for quality and excellence in his modern poems, and not just for the sake of writing poems. His poems are unconventional, and startlingly rebellious sometimes, and show him to be a cerebral and intellectual poet who is interested in getting past the surface into the sometimes unpleasant gristle of meat and bone behind the skin and sheen of things. For this disturbing quality alone, I find his poems worth reading.
