Mukti Kothaya is a trilogy of poetic plays. Although each of the three poetic plays of the trilogy – Kath Mahal (The wood Castle), PretShatabdi (The Ghost Century) and Aagami Admi (The future Man) is an independent creation in itself, yet there is an inner rhythm binding them together along with the thin continuity of the story line as well as the main characters. Mukti Kothaya is an endless journey of the Yaksha’s salvation through the three poetic plays. But in no way it’s a journey through a sandy desert, with an illusion of water – a mirage – a will – O – wisp. If it’s at all a wandering, it’s not an aimless wandering for its charged with a passion, with a quest. Some spiritual guide – some messiah might show the way, it seems to suggest, But the messiah comes not and the journey ends not. The question eternally haunts – Whither Salvation?
