The exposition of this book is almost totally based on archival sources, namely, the correspondence of the contemporary missionaries, the reports ,etc., that makes the work original and authentic. By situating mission against the problems faced by mission at that time, the author invites to probe into the difficulties missionaries faced oo propagate the faith to the downtrodden tribals ans Dalits. It is a meritorious contribution to the ongoing study of the history of religious communities who were committed to the propagation of faith.
