Sumita Munda lived in Kalabari Tea estate in Jalpaiguri. Like an ace jeweller, pucca Juhuri, Masterjee discovered enough potential in Sumita for what he was looking for many years among the young adivasi learners in tea estate. Sumita had very sharp intellect, ambition and drive. Masterjee instilled dream in her. But her education was stopped by her father. At home and out of school, Sumita felt like a bird captured and caged. Some months later Sumita came to know that Manglu had joined a child trafficking ring. She decided to teach her father a very hard lesson, for ruining her future and selling other daughters of tea-land. She would let her father feel the pangs of missing a daughter. One day she fled without notice with a group of girls who were bundled for transportation to Delhi by the Trafficking ring. The agency placed Sumita in Kapoor family in Gurgaon as domestic hand. She fell in love with Sanjib. A year had gone by. One day her master’s brother in laws tried to molest Sumita when she was home alone. She escaped and took shelter in Sanjib’s foster father’s house in the outskirts of Gurgaon. Sanjib was also stolen from the tea estate by child begging ring. Sumita helped the police to locate the office of the trafficking network in Delhi. Sumita and Sanjib came back to kalabari tea estate as a newly married couple. Sanjib got back her biological parents after more than twenty years. Sanjib got a job in the tae estate. Sumita was engaged by the NGO to stop trafficking in tea estates of north Bengal. Her father Manglu was a changed man now. He helped Sumita in her mission. After a couple of years she was awarded with prestigious award for social service in Bengal.
