This compendium of scholarly and highly original research articles on new literatures is an earnest attempt towards this end, that seeks to analyse texts that come within the purview of new literatures – literatures that have risen predominantly from nation states with a past history of colonialism - that not only reveal the need to be critical of the western epistemological framework, or hegemonies of knowledge which have hitherto valorised the Orient, but also underline the need to have alternate epistemological paradigms that strive to reflect the ‘othered’ voices in their magnificent ‘aura’.
