Introduction to the Study of Hindu Doctrines is a translation of René Guénon’s French work ‘Introduction générale à l'étude des doctrines Hindoues’. In a sense, the book can serve as an introduction to all René Guénon’s works. To anyone not already acquainted with the comprehensive nature of the author’s point of view, the title of the present book can only afford a comparatively restricted idea of its scope. In contrast to the Orientalists, the author starts out with quite other ends in view, requiring an entirely different method for their realization as well as an entirely different angle of approach. This book will serve as a key to the understanding of any of the traditional doctrines, or of them all.
