This book is a postcolonial interpretation of the Bible, taking into account the wretched situation of the poor and marginalized, and especially the natives who were the victims of colonial power and policies. Drawing on the postcolonial discourse of Edward Said, Frantz Fanon and others, this book attempts at an emancipatory hermeneutics of the Bible, in order to affirm the poor and the marginalized. The author sees the Indian Biblical scholar Prof. Soares-Prabhu as a postcolonial hermeneutic thinker, who ushers in freedom and authenticity for the wretched of the earth.
