The Grammar of Hindudom lays out the historical and philosophical framework of Hindudom, the only ideology indigenous to India and Asia. Few in the world appear to know this, leave alone appreciate it. There are also those who reckon that the ideology of Hindudom is the only one — if accepted by those who have the ability to influence the course of events — that can achieve enduring peace on earth. The basic purpose of this book is to explain why this would be so. The Grammar of Hindudom also seeks to engage a very contentious term at the root of much of the disquiet prevalent today—secularism. The credo of secularism, which has its origins in Europe, means the separation of the Church from the State. The book offers the reader a glimpse brief into the Abrahamic family of religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and their fourth sibling, Marxism, and how they have shaped human history with all their attendant consequences. Unlike these, Hinduism does not have a founder, a single prophet or any single holy book. Hindudom, which loosely means the Hindu way of life, is the way a polity can or ought to govern itself. A closely corresponding term is Christendom. Hindudom is not confined to modes of religious worship or social norms and customs. It encompasses the entire gamut of politics and governance. Hindudom is arguably the only ideology that has the capability to not only end global conflict but help human beings achieve the goal of self-actualization, which alone can bring about true inner peace.
