About the Author: Dr. Vimla Singh completed her Ph. D in Botany in the year 2003 from Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She is presently serving as Assistant Botanist in Department of Botany & Plant Physiology at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Haryana). She has been awarded Young Scientist Fellowship (2010) and Women scientist Fellowship (under WOS-A) for year 2014 & 2018. She has worked as Post doctoral fellow in IARI, NBPGR & IIMR, New Delhi, and IIWBR at Karnal. Dr. Singh is a Botanist and has interest in multifaceted aspects of plant sciences. She has expertise on plant disease diagnosis, disease management and molecular mechanisms in pathogenesis, role of fungal double stranded RNAs and Plasmids in regulating the host pathogen interactions. Currently she is investigating phytobiome mediated resistance against Rhizoctonia diseases in maize. Dr. Singh has published more than 30 papers in reputed Journals; 4 Book chapters, 3 books and several popular articles. She is also editorial board member for some National Journals.
